Alternate instructions to log into the Remote Desktop Services For Windows 10

Alternate instructions to log into the Remote Desktop Services For Windows 7/8/8.1

If you had issues due to browser incompatibility (such as those caused by Internet explorer 11 under windows 7) you can follow the following set of instructions to use the RDS system.
The following instructions should work with Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows 8.1.

Step 1

Log in to your computer and click the Start button.

Step 2

Type Remoteapp in the search bar.

Step 3

Select RemoteApp and Desktop Connections from the results.

Step 4

Click on Set up a new connection with RemoteApp and Desktop Connections on the left side of the control panel.

Step 5

Enter https://apps.msjc.edu/rdweb/feed/webfeed.aspx in the Email address or connection URL box.

Step 6

Click Next.

Step 7

Enter your credentials.
Example:
Username: msjc\backboardUserName
Password: BlackboardPassword
Click OK.

Step 8

Wait for the wizard to connect to the resources.

Click OK.

Click Finish.

Step 11

Close the Control Panel window.

Step 12

Click Start and select All Programs.

Step 13

Click RemoteApp and Desktop Connections and click MSJC Applications.
Select the program you wish to open.
Note: From now on your RDS applications will be located in this location, there is no need to complete the previous steps again to open a RDS application.

Step 14

Click Connect on the popup.

Step 15

Wait for the program to connect.

Step 16

Select Yes from the Certificate popup.

Step 17

Use the program as you normally would remembering to save often.
